Well September is here and the weather is a little bit cooler.

Well the Roudebush VA Hospital and the Danville VA Hospital in Indianapolis, and Danville, Il are open for business for those that can drive and make it to the vacillates .

We have not driven to the VA hospitals to take anyone to the VA due to the fact that we are not allowed to take anyone by our vehicles.

The week of Aug 31st thru Sept 7th I will be on vacation and will not be at the American Legion Post 72.

In August we had 55 phone calls into my office and I had 13 visitors in my office to file a claim.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month one day , World Suicide Prevention day is set for Sept. 10th and the National Suicide Prevention Week is set for Sept. 6-12 2020.

Suicide Rates for the Air Force and Navy Rise in 2019. Last year, a total of 72 active-duty sailors and 7 Reserve sailors committed suicide. This is the most sailor deaths by suicide since at least 2006 and in 2018 the Navy recorded 68 active duty suicides and 11 Reserve sailor deaths.

The Air Force had a spike in Suicides in 2019 it reported 84 death by suicide and that was the most since 1947 when the service was established.

In 2019, the Marines had 47 active Duty Marines committed suicide which was 11 fewer than 2018. If you know a vet that may decide to commit suicide call the Veterans

Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 and press 1.

The Veteran Expo will again be on October 15th this year and we will have the following Vendors present Walgreen will be here to give both flu shots and the extra flu shot and the only thing you need is a Medicare card and if you want to bring your wife she can come and just bring her Medicare card and Insurance card. We will also have Sugar Creek Eye Care will give eye exams, and the Blue Star Mothers will be on hand to bring us biscuits and gravy. Please let’s try and get as many people as we can for the flu shot.

If you need DD-214 please call the Recorders Office to see if they have your DD-214 on file , if they don’t please call me to see if I have one or we will order you one. If you have a DD-214 but have not filled it as yet, please take it to the Recorders Office in the Courthouse and have it registered.
