Q.   What is considered a sharp?

A.    Needles - hollow needles used to inject drugs (medication) under the skin.  Syringes - devices used to inject medication into or withdraw fluid from the body.  Lancets, also called "fingerstick" devices - instruments with short, two-edged blade used to get drops of blood for testing.

Q.   Where can I take sharps for proper disposal?

A.    Montgomery County Health Department - 1580 Constitution Row Suite G - Crawfordsville, IN.  Office Hours: 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.  

       Crawfordsville Police Department - 311 North Green Street - Crawfordsville, IN.  Lobby Hours 24/7.  If you have a large amount of sharps to dispose of, CPD requests that those be brought in during regular business hours:  8am to 4:00pm
