Nancy Cox is the Montgomery County Recorder.
The Recorder's Office is located in the Montgomery County Government Center, 1580 Constitution Row, Crawfordsville.
The County Recorder's primary duty is recording instruments and perpetuation documents on behalf of county residents. Documents recorded include deeds, mortgages, affidavits, power of attorneys, contracts, easements, and surveys among many other miscellaneous documents. All deeds have been scanned from 1823 to present. All recordings are public information and are available to the public for a fee.
Public Records Search
Whether searching deeds, surveys, covenants, genealogy, or other deed matters, one of the most significant services provided by the Recorder's Office is the retrieval of public documents, primarily as it pertains to land records.
To search in person, you may stop by the office to view deeds dating back to the 1800's. Another great resource within the county is the Crawfordsville Public Library -- https://crawfordsvillelibrary.in.gov/resources/.
For your online convenience, we are pleased to partner with Doxpop. The Doxpop service allows citizens and companies to access public records without coming into the office. Access to our public records is available through the doxpop.com website or by phone at 866-369-7671.
